Backstreet Boys Britney Spears
Teen queen Britney Spears and the inescapable Backstreet Boys lead the nomination list for the 1999 MTV Europe Music Awards, which will be held at the Point in Dublin Nov. 11.
Announced Monday (Oct. 4) in London, Spears and the B-Boys are up for four awards each, including Best Group and Best Song. Next up are Lauryn Hill, the Cardigans, the Offspring, George Michael, and TLC with three nominations apiece.
Slated to perform on the show include Spears, Cardigans, Mariah Carey, the Corrs, Jamiroquai, Marilyn Manson, the Offspring, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Whitney Houston, and Underworld. Jay-Z, LL Cool J, Mary J. Blige, and Fun Lovin’ Criminals are among the presenters.
